FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where do I find out what my child is swimming in the meet?

The heat sheet is accessible to all swimmers 24 hours prior to the meet in the SwimminglyFan app. You can see a swimmer's events at check-in on the day of the meet as well.  Many swimmers and their families use “Sharpie” markers to write down their Swimmingly ID and their Event/Heat/Lane numbers on their hands when they do meet check-in.

What time do we need to be at a meet?

Meets are held on Monday and Thursday nights. Home meets the swimmers need to be at the pool by 4:45pm for a 5pm warmup. Away meets the swimmers need to be at the pool by 5:15 for 5:30 warm ups. Meets start at 6pm.

What do we need to bring to swim meets?

• Warm clothing, sweats are great. Also bring more than one towel to stay warm.

• Sleeping bag or a blanket to sit on

• Goggles and swim cap

• Games, books, cards, etc. (something for the swimmers to do while they wait for their next event)

What happens at the meets?

• First you will need to sign your swimmer in at the check-in table

• Mark your swimmers with their ID

• Swimmers then must sit in our team area

• There will be warm ups before the meet

• Swimmers will be assisted by the Team Angels and Junior Coaches with lining up for their events.

• Cheer for your fellow teammates!

How long does a meet last?

Meets generally run about 3 hours. Swimmers should not leave before the meet is over without checking in with a coach.

How many events will my child swim?

Tadpole swimmers will swim their event at the very beginning of our home swim meets. All other swimmers can swim up to 3 individual events and 2 relays. Coaches will set relays after they know who will be attending the meet.

When will my swimmer get his/her ribbons?

During practice - they will be placed in your family folder.
